Originally from a small town in central Pennsylvania, Macy Becker is now based in Morrisville, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts with a minor in Museum Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Within her practice she is particularly interested in exploring the ways in which the human body can be visually depicted and how such imagery evokes positive or negative feelings in the viewer. She also is passionate about creating pet portraits with a strong focus on capturing each animal’s individual personality. She mainly creates drawings and paintings, though she also enjoys being hands-on with a variety of materials such as metal, plaster, and wood. Alongside art-making, Macy teaches swim lessons and also works as the school manager and photographer for J&S Photography.
