Originally from a small town in central Pennsylvania, Macy Becker is now based in Pittsburgh and received her Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts with a minor in Museum Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Having been drawn to art since a young age, Macy's goal is to continue working with art in her daily life and to always be creating. Within her practice she is particularly interested in exploring the ways in which the human body can be visually depicted and how such imagery evokes positive or negative feelings in the viewer. She mainly creates drawings and paintings, though she also enjoys being hands-on with a variety of materials such as metal, plaster, and wood. Alongside art-making, Macy is a gallery attendant at the Mattress Factory Museum and the Carnegie Museum of Art.
